What is SCENE?

The "Southeast and Central European Network - SCENE" is a co-operation between Europe Houses and similar institutions, mainly FIME members in central and south-east Europe. It goes back to a conference held in Vienna in June 2001 where participating institutions expressed their intention of closer co-operation.
SCENE aims at deepening and expanding the co-operation of its members in order to make their measures and programmes accessible to a larger circle of citizens and in order to make their material and non-material resources available for mutual use and make possible common access to new resources.
SCENE is based at the European Academy Vienna and may develop its means and possibilities further into a common platform, that are to be expanded within the framework of FIME but also together with other centers into a working network of European information and education.
